Tenancy Reference Data
Tenancy Reference Data is data supplied to MyTenant.ie by Landlords, Letting Agents, Letting Agencies, Property Management Companies and other authorised agents acting on behalf of Landlords (Business Members) in relation data and personal opinion regarding periods of tenancy in residential properties.
This data contains both factual information about a specific tenancy period, and the personal opinion of Landlords or their Agents about specific aspects or issues directly related to the tenancy period.

Tenancy Reference Data Report
Where a Business Member requests the use of our Tenancy Reference Data Matching Service, MyTenant.ie will check the data that member has supplied against its Tenancy Reference Data records.
If a data match occurs, the Business Member will receive a Tenancy Reference Data Report which will include the following information:
- Tenancy Reference Opinion – (Landlord / Landlords Agent)
- Tenancy Issues Identified – (Landlord / Landlords Agent)
- MyTenant.ie – Data Record Information
– Tenancy Reference Opinion – (Landlord / Landlords Agent)
The report will contain the personal opinion of the Landlord / Landlords agent identifying;
- If a previous Landlord / Landlords Agent would accept the Tenancy again;
- If a previous Landlord / Landlords Agent is willing to provide a Tenant with Reference for a Tenancy period;
- If a previous Landlord / Landlords Agent is willing to be contacted about the Tenancy Reference Data by other parties

The report will also identify factual issues highlighted by the Landlord / Landlords Agent which might have arisen during the tenancy period and may have affected the Tenancy period including;
- Non-payment of Rent;
- Unpaid utility bills at the end of tenancy period;
- Overholding of Tenancy;
- Breach of Terms of Tenancy;
- Problems with the Standard and Maintenance of Dwelling;
- Complaints of Anti-Social Behaviour;
- Complaints of Excessive Noise;
- Damage in excess of Normal ‘Wear and Tear’;
- Illegal use of property;
- Unapproved sub-letting;
- Incorrect or incomplete information provided to secure Tenancy (references or income details);
- All or part of the deposit was retained to cover outstanding rent/bills or damage to the property;
- Action required to terminate the tenancy before the expiry of tenancy period;
- Legal action / proceedings were taken to remove the tenant from the property

The Tenancy Reference Data Report will also identify any attempts by individuals to alter, amend, correct or challenge the content or detail of any Tenancy Reference Data held by MyTenant.ie, namely;
- Is this Tenancy Reference Data currently being disputed or reviewed under any ‘Right of Amendment or Correction’ by persons to whom the data might relate?
- Has this Tenancy Reference Data been the subject of any dispute or review under any ‘Right of Amendment or Correction’ by persons to whom the data might relate?
- Has this data been corrected, altered or amended by MyTenant.ie or the Business Member who submitted the data following the exercise of any ‘Right of Amendment or Correction’ by persons to whom the data might relate?
- Has MyTenant.ie or the Business Member who submitted the data declined to alter, amend, change or remove any data from this record following a request under any ‘Right of Amendment or Correction’ by persons to whom the data might relate?
- Is this Tenancy Reference Data currently the subject of review, action or recommendation by the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) following any referral to the DPC by persons to whom the data might relate?
- Has this Tenancy Reference Data been altered, amended, changed or had portions of data deleted following any review, action or recommendation by the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) following any referral to the DPC by persons to whom the data might relate?
